Beneath the enclose of the gazebo a ear splitting splash followed by amplified grunts awoke me making me to think it was daybreak! The hippos in haste to make it to the pond must have run at bursting pace to enter the water before sunrise above the navy skies.

The pool sparkled beneath the reflection of a clear star dotted heaven. Now, alert, I scan the pond for other life and some meters away from the grunting hippos, relaxing in the rim of the pond are two crocodiles. I can not return to bed now with a lot transpiring beneath my patio.

It's amazing that the stroll covering the grounds has lasted from morning meal to lunchtime. A dotted monitor lizard scampers in front of our route as it disappears towards the dense shrub. Soon we arrive at the crocodile nursery at the pool where the spring water gushes.
A tiny crocodile lies about the hard stone unconcerned about our presence. The crystal clear pool of bubbling water is rather vibrant with the small charges. We marvel at how this little one will someday develop into a monstrous sized crocodile. What a morning!
